To the great Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Avraham Tzvi HaCohen (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings*,

I received, with pleasure, your letter of 4 Tishrei*, announcing this good news: you have had the merit of teaching Chassidus* publicly. Moreover, you did so on a day of the past year (see note 2) which is considered, by itself, as the entirety of that year.

In this way, you have conferred merit upon the multitude, for this teaching took place in a house of prayer, in accordance with the verse: "Hashem loves the gates of Tzion*" (see note 3). And from the "end of the year" (see note 4), one has passed to the "beginning of the year," since this teaching continued on Rosh Hashanah*.

Without a doubt, this teaching will be fixed in the future. Not three days will pass without studying the inner part of the Torah*. There are no words to express how important this is.

May Hashem grant that we immediately witness the fulfillment of the promise of the Raya Mehemna*, according to which: "Through it (see note 5), the children of Yisroel* will leave the exile in mercy."

With my blessing* that you be definitively sealed for a good year,

בנועם קבלתי מכתבו מד' תשרי, בבשורה הטובה אשר זכה ללמוד תורת דברי אלקים חיים ברבים ועוד ביום אחד בשנה שעברה שחשוב כשנה, וזיכה בזה את הרבים בלמדו במקום תפלה, וכדברי רז"ל על הכתוב אוהב ה' שערי ציון, ומאחרית שנה לראשית שנה שהמשיך הלימוד בראש השנה, ובודאי מכאן ולהבא תהי' בזה קביעות אשר לכל הפחות לא יעברו שלשה ימים בלא לימוד פנימיות התורה, וגודל הדבר אין די באר, ויה"ר אשר תיכף נזכה להבטחת ריעא מהימנא דבי' יפקון בני ישראל מגלותא ברחמים.
