To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, of manifold accomplishments, filled with zeal, Rav* Moshe (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings*,

I received, with pleasure, your letter and what it contained. This followed your news, which I obtain from time to time through the Chassidim* of the Holy Land who meet you and let me know what you accomplish.

May Hashem grant that our generation finally benefit from this period, from its capacities and strengths — not to struggle against evil, but to multiply and increase the good. To be sure, due to our many sins, the current situation conforms to the indication given by our Sages* regarding the era of ikvesa d'Meshicha* (see note 2): "There is no day whose curse..." (see note 3).

I have already said that this teaching of our Sages*, like the entirety of the Torah*, delivers a teaching for thought, for speech, and even for action, which is the following: every day, one must multiply the blessing, without contenting oneself with the situation of the day before. It is said, indeed, that "Hashem made them one opposite the other" (see note 4). And a verse clearly states that the blessing, the good, and life are our Torah* and its mitzvos*.

We are at the beginning of a new year. May Hashem therefore grant that all of this be renewed, for good and for blessing, in a visible and tangible good.

With my respects and my blessing* that you be definitively sealed for a good year, thanking you for all of this,

נעם לי לקבל מכתבו עם המוסגר בו, בהמשך להפ"ש שמקבל אני מזמן לזמן ע"י אנ"ש באה"ק ת"ו הנפגשים אתו והמודיעים מפעולותיו, ויהי רצון שסו"ס יזכה דורנו לנצל הזמן, הכשרונות והכחות לא על מלחמה ברע אלא על הגברת הטוב והגדלת הטוב, אף שבעוה"ר לע"ע הרי המצב הוא ע"ד מרז"ל בסימנא דעקבתא דמשיחא, אין לך יום שאין קללתו כו', וכבר אמרתי אשר ככל התורה גם מרז"ל זה הוא הוראה בהנוגע למחשבה דבור וגם מעשה, וענין הוראה זו, אשר צריכים להרבות בכל יום את הברכה, ואין להסתפק בהמצב דאתמול, כי הרי זה לעומת זה עשה האלקים, והרי הוא מקרא מפורש אשר הברכה הטובה והחיים הם תורתנו ומצותי'...

ובעמדנו בתחלת שנה חדשה, הנה יה"ר שיתחדשו כל הענינים לטובה ולברכה בטוב הנראה והנגלה.
