Igrot Kodesh · Letter 474 — Inquiry into Tanya Commentaries Brought from Eretz Yisrael

To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid fearing Hashem,

Rav M.[1],

I send you my greetings and blessings,

I have at last received a small collection of commentaries on the Tanya*, which Rav C. Palmer[2] brought back for me[3]. I thank you very much for it. Please be so good as to inform me whether this consists of the explanations of Rav C. G.[4] that he wrote for his personal use.

There also exist commentaries he gave orally during study sessions. Are these included in the collection? Indeed, I did not find there certain explanations that had been related to me in his name.

Furthermore, this collection stops in the middle of chapter 44. Is this everything that was noted, or was the end of these notes lost? I thank you in advance for kindly answering all these questions.

Enclosed you will find a fascicle published some time ago, and you will no doubt make it available to as many people as possible.

הגיע לידי סו"ס ביכעל קטן ביאורים על סש"ב שהביא הר"ש שי' פאלמער ות"ח כפולה לכת"ר על זה ובודאי יודיעני אם זהו מביאורי הרש"ג שרשם לעצמו וישנם נוסף ע"ז ג"כ מה שהי' אומר בע"פ בעת הלמוד או שג"ז נכלל בביכעל הנ"ל כי איזה דיוקים שסיפרו לי בשם הנ"ל לא מצאתים בכת"י זה.

כן הביכל מסתיים באמצע פמ"ד וא"י אם זהו כל מה שנרשם או שחסר הסיום ועל הבירור בכ"ז תודתי נתונה למפרע.

מוסג"פ הקונטרס שהו"ל זה לא כבר ובודאי יזכה בו את הרבים.
