Blessings* and greetings,

I am responding to your letter of 2/8, and you have surely already received the one that followed your previous letter. I partially answered there the question you address in your present letter.

How should this book (see note 2) be published? In my opinion, it should be printed and not remain in manuscript form. Therefore, if there is a hope that the entire book can be published with all its supplements and footnotes, this is certainly positive.

Conversely, if the publication is conditional upon one element or another and, because of this, will be impossible or will take a very long time, one should consider a partial edition, reproducing only the additions and noting each time the corresponding reference in the previous edition of the Sefer HaRikma*.

This latter solution will have a much lower cost. The book will be published more easily. The Sefer HaRikma*, in any case, is not intended for the general public and is reserved for specialists. There is therefore no reason to fear that it will not be used because one would need to constantly consult another book.

With the wish that you may realize your desire without difficulty and in the best manner, and that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

ברכה ושלום!

במענה על מכתבה מ ,2/&-ובטח כבר קיבלה את המענה שלי על

מכתבה הקודם ,וחלקית יש שם גם מענה על השאלה שנוגעת בה

במכתבה הנוכחי.

האופן כיצד להדפיס זאת ,לדעתי מה שחשוב בעיקר הוא שזה

יודפס ולא ישאר בכתב-יד ,ולכן -אם יש תקוה שיוכלו להדפיס את כל

הספר בהוצאה חדשה עם כל השינויים והערות השוליים ,ודאי טוב,

אבל אם בגין ההוצאות הכרוכות בזה או סיבות אחרות ,בלתי אפשרי או

שזה יקח זמן בלתי מוגדר ,כדאי לחשוב לא אודות הדפסה חוזרת של

הכל אלא רק את ההוספות החדשות ולהתייחס -במקום המסויים -

לדף זה וזה בהוצאה הקודמת של ספר הרקמה ,שזה ידרוש הרבה פחות

הוצאות והרבה יותר קל להביא זאת לפועל .שכן ,בין כך ובין כך ספר

הרקמה אינו ספר עבור כל אחד ,והוא רק למומחים ,ולכן יש רק חשש

מועט שבגלל הטרחה הקלה של צורך להביט בספר אחר זה ירתיע

מלהשתמש . . .

בברכה שתוכל להביא לפועל את רצונה ללא קשיים ובאופן הטוב

ביותר ולכתיבה וחתימה טובה.
