Greetings and blessings*,

I am responding to your letter of the first day of Rosh Chodesh* of the month of mercy (see note 1).

You write that you saw me make a certain gesture (see note 2) and that consequently, you are writing to me about this matter (see note 3).

I am very surprised by the attitude of the Chassidim*. Regarding certain points, my letters are detailed and I specify that no allusion should be deduced from what I write or say. Yet, people cling to such allusions, to "allusions of allusions," and to gestures. And they delve deeply into all of this.

With my blessing* that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,
