Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 18 Menachem Av, which I received some time ago. I read with pleasure that your wife, may she be granted long life, continues to fulfill her sacred mission within the Chabad* school. In this matter, you can place your trust in the Creator of the world, Who directs it. He will grant you abundant blessing and success, including in your personal matters, through this most exalted form of service of Hashem (see note 1).

You mention disputes and a lack of consideration (see note 2). This is surely explained, in part, by financial difficulties that impose restrictions and with which the treasurer himself is not satisfied (see note 3). But the pressures leave him no choice and, apparently, he himself seeks a justification for all of this.

Ultimately, as can be verified in all institutions belonging to the domain of holiness, these restrictions eventually disappear. All those who work there, who participate in their development and expansion, will be rewarded, not only in the spiritual domain but also in the material sense, in the most literal way.

You can deduce from these words what my position is regarding the future. Divine Providence* has entrusted to you and to your wife a good portion. You must therefore exert your efforts there to the greatest extent possible. Ultimately, the relationships will improve. For your part, you will also do everything in your power to bring hearts closer in this matter. All parties will benefit — this is self-evident.

The most essential point: you write that she (see note 4) is successful in her work, that the children maintain with her a special bond and attachment. This is the most suitable channel for implanting in them the love of Hashem, the love of Torah* and its Mitzvos*.

I hope you will find the words to explain to your wife that, even if certain Chabad customs do not seem to suit her for the moment, she will find explanations and justifications for them in due time.

On the occasion of the coming school year, I have good hope that the start of classes in the Chabad schools will take place some time before the official date.

May Hashem grant that you both know success in the domain of Chabad education, with considerable achievement, in good health, with breadth of spirit, in material abundance and spiritual tranquility.

I renew my blessing that Hashem grant that your wife's pregnancy proceed well and that she have, in due time, an easy delivery.

במענה על מכתבו מח"י מנ"א, שנתקבל זה לא כבר - נעם לי לקרות בו, אשר זוגתו שתליט"א מחזיקה בעבודתה בקדש, בבי"ס חב"ד אשר ב... ובטוחים יהיו בבורא עולם ומנהיגו, שיושפע רוב ברכה, והצלחה גם בעניני' הפרטים ע"י עבודה הכי נעלית זו.

ומ"ש ע"ד הסכסוכים, היחס הבלתי מתאים וכו' - בטח מקצתו מתבאר ע"י הדוחק הכספי המכריח לצמצומים (שאינם נראים אפילו בעיני הגזבר), אבל מרוב הדוחק אין הברירה בידו ומנסה - כלפי חוץ - למצוא הצדקה על זה. אבל סו"ס, כמו שרואים בכל מוסדות דקדושה, מתמעטים הצמצומים. וכל העובדים בהם ולוקחים חלק בהתפתחותם והרחבתם - באים על שכרם, לא רק ברוחניות, אלא גם שכר גשמי כפשוטו.

ומזה מובנת גם כן השקפתי בהנוגע לעתיד, כיון שהשגחה העליונה העמידתו וגם העמידתה על חלק היפה, יש להשתדל בזה ככל הדרוש. וסו"ס יוטבו גם היחסים, ובודאי מצדו יעשה ככל התלוי בו לקירוב הלבבות בהנ"ל, שתועלת בזה לכל הצדדים, וק"ל.

ועיקר העיקרים שבזה הוא - מה שכותב שהצליחה בעבודתה והילדים רוחשים לה יחס מיוחד והתקשרות, שזהו הצנור הכי מתאים להחדרה בהילדים אהבת ה' אהבת התורה ומצותי'. ותקותי שימצא ג"כ אותיות להסביר לזוגתו, אשר אף שלע"ע איזה מנהגי חב"ד אין נראים בעיני', במשך הזמן תמצא די ביאור והסברה עליהם.

ולשנת הלימודים הבע"ל, אשר תקותי שבמוסדות חב"ד יתחילו בזה איזה זמן לפני המועד הרשמי, יה"ר שיצליחו שניהם בשטח חינוך חב"ד בהצלחה מופלגה, ומתוך בריאות והרחבת הדעת ופרנסה במנוחת הנפש.

ואכפול ברכתי אשר השי"ת ימלא ימי הריון זוגתו תחי' כשורה ובנקל ותלד זחו"ק בעתה ובזמנה כשורה ובקל.
