Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 25 Menachem Av (see note 1), in which you cite various reasons explaining why you have diminished and even ceased your study of Chassidus*.

Of what use are these reasonings and explanations if, in the end, the study is lacking? You know the teaching of our Torah* that one cannot consider one who finds himself in a situation of force majeure as though he had actually acted (see note 2).

You must therefore endeavor, to the greatest extent possible, to set a fixed time for the study of Chassidus, preferably each day, even for a short time. Then, on Shabbos* and twice during the week, you will devote more time to it. And nothing withstands the will.

You mention ritual immersion and what follows from it for your health (see note 3). It is clear that in such a case, one must consult a specialist and ask him whether it would be helpful, in your situation, to place cotton in the ear (see note 4).
