Greetings and blessings,

You surely recall my opinion regarding your settlement, which should enable you to make the broadest possible use of your abilities and knowledge in the domain where they are most useful.

Thus, in my view, you should settle in a country and a place where the common language is the one you speak. Moreover, in that language, very few are able to exert influence in the domain of Yiddishkeit*, Torah* and its Mitzvos*. I therefore maintain my position on this matter. However, it seems that you do not accept it, due to obstacles, internal or external. Consequently, you may accept the proposal being made to you in this city (see note 1), under the following conditions:

A) You must be completely free regarding everything that concerns the fear of Hashem in the institution where you will hold your position. You must therefore have all the time necessary to seize the opportunities that present themselves to you, in order to also educate the adults — that is, to instill in them the fear of Hashem, to lead them to put the Mitzvos into concrete practice.

Obviously, this also includes the condition that your name not be used as an endorsement for unfortunate events (see note 2) and, all the more so, for anything that goes against the Shulchan Aruch*.

B) It must be possible to ensure that the institution in which you currently work does not suffer from your departure.

You describe, at the end of your letter, how you have begun to study a little Chassidus*. I would like to hope that the initial period has already passed. You must therefore intensify your study, quantitatively and qualitatively. And nothing withstands the will.

Moreover, this part of the Torah is regarded by all as its inner dimension. The holy Zohar* calls it "the soul of the Torah." And one can verify concretely that such study intensifies the light and vitality in all the domains and all the actions of a Jewish person.

With my blessing for success in all that has been said, to give good news and to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,
