Greetings and blessings,

You have surely received in due time my letter in response to your previous one. I have also received your letter from the end of Tammuz, which reached me with some delay.

You mention the lack of books. You should have been more specific in this matter. Obviously, these should be, to the greatest extent possible, books published by Kehot*, which you will be able to obtain more easily.

No doubt you have met the emissaries* (see note 1), the young rabbanim*, may they be granted long life, on several occasions, and their visit to the Holy Land has been put to use for your activity in the vineyard (see note 2) of Chabad*. You will inform me of all this with all the necessary details. May Hashem grant you success.

I have heard a rumor — and may Hashem grant that it be unfounded — that obstacles are being placed before you in your spreading of the wellsprings* (see note 3) among Torah scholars. You must in no way be affected by this. In tranquility, you will continue this spreading of the wellsprings of Torah, which are its paths. And action in this direction weakens the forces of those who oppose it.

Our Sages emphasize that one who says "this explanation is beautiful" (see note 4) also loses the explanation he considers beautiful (see note 5), Heaven forbid. Fortunate is your portion, for you bear this sacred mission. In the end, you will prevail, in accordance with the well-known ruling of the Heavenly Court (see note 6).

מכתבי מענה על מכתבו הקודם בטח הגיעו בזמנו, ומאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו משילהי תמוז - שנתאחר קצת עד שהגיע אלי.

במ"ש אודות חוסר ספרים, צריך הי' לפרט יותר, ומובן שככל האפשרי יהי' זה ספרים מהוצאת קה"ת שזה יהי' בנקל יותר להשיג.

בטח נפגש כ"פ עם השלוחים האברכים הרבנים שליט"א, ונצלו ביקורם באה"ק ת"ו גם בעבודתו הוא בכרם חב"ד, ובטח יודיע בפרטיות המתאימה גם בזה, והשי"ת יצליחו.

הגיעתני שמועה (והלואי שתתבדה), שיש מפריעים לו בהפצת המעינות בין בני תורה. ובודאי לא יתרשם כלל מזה. ובדרכי נועם ימשיך להפיץ מעינות התורה שאלו הם דרכי', וביחד עם זה נק' תושי' כי מתשת כחם של כל המנגדים להפצתה. וכל האומר שמועה זו אינה נאה - כבר אמרז"ל שגם שמועה הנאה בעיניו יאבד ר"ל. - ואשרי חלקו בעבה"ק האמורה, וסו"ס תהי' ידו על העליונה, וכפסק הידוע של ב"ד של מעלה.
