To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,
Rav Meir (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 16 Menachem Av, in which you tell me that you are seeking a position as chazzan* for the Yomim Noraim* (see note 2) and for the Yomim Tovim* (see note 3), which are approaching.

Obviously, you must, for various reasons, endeavor as far as possible to hold this position in a synagogue following the rite of the Arizal*. Last year you had this opportunity, and with the proper effort, you will succeed this year as well.

You ask me about the order of Selichos*. Our custom in this matter is already printed and has surely reached the Holy Land (see note 4). You will also find it in the Siddur* Torah Or, published by Kehot*, page 229b. It is established according to the instruction of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us.

I am surprised that you say nothing of your participation in public studies and, in particular, in the spreading of the wellsprings* (see note 5) until they reach the outside.

במענה על מכתבו מט"ז מנ"א, בו כותב בהנוגע לשאלת משרת ש"ץ לימים נוראים וימים טובים הבע"ל.

ומובן שיש להשתדל ככל האפשרי לקבל משרה זו בביהכ"נ שם מתפללים בנוסח האריז"ל, ומכמה וכמה טעמים, וכיון שבשנה העברה עלה הדבר בידו בטח בהשתדלות גם בשנה זו יצליח.

במ"ש אודות סדר הסליחות. - כבר נדפס מנהגנו בזה, ובטח הגיע גם לאה"ק ת"ו, כן נמצא בסידור תורה אור הוצאת קה"ת דף רכ"ט ע"ב, והוא בהוראת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

לפלא שאין מזכיר דבר בהנוגע להשתתפותו בשיעורים הנלמדים ברבים, ובפרט מהפצת המעינות (עד שיגיעו גם) חוצה.
