To the eminent Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,
of manifold deeds, who devotes himself to communal needs,
Rav Yehoshua (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I have received, with pleasure, the seventh volume of the Talmudic Encyclopedia* (see note 2). I thank you for having thought to send it to me. May Hashem grant that, with breadth of spirit, you continue this grand enterprise, expanding the knowledge of our holy Torah*, the Torah of life, the Word of the living Hashem, in the widest circles of our people, the Children of Yisroel*.

As we discussed when you were here, may Hashem grant that the subsequent volumes appear more rapidly. The additional cost that will result will be covered by the returns, not only moral but also material, in the most literal sense.

Undoubtedly, every member of the board (see note 3) and the editorial staff can act to this end with zeal, in accordance with the position he occupies. The merit of all depends upon you.
