To the leaders and notables of the community Nidchei Yisroel* (see note 1) in Mexico, may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you.

The emissary of the scholars (see note 2) of the Yeshiva* Tomchei Temimim* Lubavitch — the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, full of zeal, Rav Mordechai Dov Teleshevski — is currently in your city. You will undoubtedly assist him so that he carries out the mission entrusted to him in the best possible way, given in particular the difficult situation facing the Torah institutions of the Lubavitch movement, which are in need of financial support as soon as possible.

In these days of the month of Menachem Av, which begins with destruction (see note 3) and continues with consolation and rebuilding, as it is stated: "He consoles Tzion* and rebuilds Yerushalayim*" — the essential aspect of this consolation must come through our holy Torah*. And our Sages* observe that "all that remains to us is this Torah" — that is, the houses of prayer and the houses of study, which are the "small sanctuaries" of our era.

Consequently, any assistance given to the sanctuaries of Torah, in which the complete Torah of Hashem is studied, constitutes actual consolation and rebuilding, hastening the true and complete Redemption*, when "these days shall be transformed into joy and gladness" (see note 4), speedily and in our days.

The Holy One, blessed be He, acts "measure for measure" (see note 5), but in greatly increased proportion. He will therefore bless those who act and those who cause others to act, granting them great success, both material and spiritual.

באשר נמצא במחנם השד"ר של ישיבות "תומכי-תמימים" ליובאוויטש, הרה"ח וו"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצרכי ציבור בעל מרץ וכו' מוה"ר מרדכי דוב שי' טעלעשעווסקי, בטח יושיטו לו יד עזר וסיוע למלא שליחותו על הצד היותר טוב, ובפרט בשים לב למצב הדחוק של מוסדות התורה דליובאוויטש, אשר עזר כספי הגון דרוש בהקדם.

ובימים אלו של חודש מנחם אב, אשר תחלתו עניני חורבן, אבל תיכף לזה עניני נחמה ובנין, מנחם ציון ובונה ירושלים, הנה עיקר הנחמה היא תורתנו הק', וכמאמר רז"ל אין לנו שיור אלא התורה הזאת, ובתי כנסיות ובתי מדרשות הם מקדשי מעט דזמן הזה. שלכן כל סיוע להיכלי התורה שלומדים שם תורת ה' תמימה ביראת שמים, הרי זה נחמה ובנין ומקרב הגאולה האמתית והשלמה, שאז יהפכו ימים אלו לימי ששון ושמחה, במהרה בימינו.

ובמדתו של הקב"ה מדה כנגד מדה וכמה פעמים ככה, יתברכו כל העושים ומעשים בהצלחה מרובה בגשמיות וברוחניות.
