To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav A. S. (see note 1),

I greet you and bless you.

I have duly received your letter of Rosh Chodesh* Menachem Av. I thank you for the books you sent me and for the trouble you took to do so.

In your letter, you mention Rav Zakheim. I would like to know whether he was a relative of Rav Binyamin Zakheim, who was a Rav in Yekaterinoslav — the city in which my father and teacher also served as Rav.

I hope you have already met the emissaries (see note 2) who came from here, may Hashem grant them long life, and that they will have the opportunity to visit your synagogue and house of study, even though their time is limited. I also wish to receive good news from you concerning them.

Their mission consists essentially of strengthening the standing of the Chassidim and of Chabad*. May Hashem grant them success. In their days and in ours, this period (see note 3) shall be transformed into joy and gladness. In accordance with what the Gemara* states in tractate Megillah 29a, all the synagogues and houses of study — designated as "small sanctuaries" — will be transferred to the Holy Land. Thus we shall merit the Third Beis HaMikdash*, speedily and in our days.

I enclose a fascicle that has appeared in recent days. You will surely make it available to as many people as possible. The merit of all depends on it.
