Greetings and blessings,
I duly received your letter of 5/7. You tell me that you think you will have difficulty working with a community and that you will more easily address a single person, individually.
Regarding this too, it is stated, in the well-known formulation: "Withdraw your hand from neither the one nor the other." Little by little, you will be able to work with groups as well, and not only with individuals, even though the beginning is difficult, as is the case in every domain.
You know the saying (see letter 4558) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe (the Frierdiker Rebbe*), that "an individual is a community." And one can observe that this is indeed the case. Sometimes, through the influence exerted on a single individual, one can subsequently transform an entire community.
I read with particular pleasure in your letter what you say about the day camp. I hope you will not be content with the number of children you mention. You will endeavor to increase it. This will be easier now that the quality of your camp is known.
The same applies to the Shabbos* afternoon recreational program, which is directed by your wife. May Hashem grant you success. You will redouble your ardor in all this and will achieve exceptional success. Thus, you will intensify the blessing of Hashem and the success He grants in your personal concerns.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מ-/5;7amp&, ואף שכותב שלפי דעתו קשה לו לפעול על צבור ובנקל הרבה יותר השפעתו על היחיד:
גם על זה קאי לשון הידוע, מזה ומזה אל תנח ידך, ובמשך הזמן בודאי יוכל לפעול גם על קבוצי אנשים ולא רק על אחדים, אף שכל התחלות קשות כמו בכל הענינים, ופשיטא שצריך להמשיך בפעולות ובהשתדלות עם יחידים, וכבר ידוע פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, א יחיד איז א רבים, וכנראה במוחש, אשר לפעמים על ידי יחיד מתקנים את הרבים הבא לאחר זמן תחת השפעת יחיד זה.
נעם לי לקרות ביחוד במכתבו אודות הדעי קעמפ, ותקותי שלא יסתפקו במספר הילדים שכותב אודותם, אלא ישתדלו להוסיף עליהם ויהי' עתה בנקל יותר אחר שנתפרסם טיב הנהגת הקעמפ, וככל זה גם בהנוגע למסיבת שבת המתנהלת על ידי זוגתו תחי', והשי"ת יצליחם להוסיף אומץ בכל האמור להצליח באופן יוצא מן הכלל שעל ידי זה תתרבה גם כן ברכת השי"ת והצלחתו בעניניהם הפרטים.
