To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Shimon,

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to the decision of which you informed me — yours and that of several of your friends — to establish a gemach* (free loan fund for mutual aid). And you have already taken concrete steps in this direction.

May Hashem grant that this beginning come at a good and fruitful moment, that these activities continue and develop according to need. Your assistance will meet with success, in accordance with the explanation of our Sages.

Regarding the verse, "Hashem will bless you and protect you" (Bamidbar 6:24), it is stated: "He will bless you in your money and your possessions, He will protect your money and your possessions" — so that they be used in the best possible manner, as a visible and tangible good. You should consult the Sifri* and the Midrash Rabbah* on this reference.

Fortunate are all those who invest their effort in this matter. And may Hashem grant, in accordance with the saying (see letter 4487) of the great Rav, Chassid, and tzaddik*, Rabbi Hillel of Paritsh*, that there be fulfilled in each of you the possibility — through this improved practice of the mitzvos*, through these good deeds — of better understanding the explanations of Chassidus*. In this way, you will intensify your study of the revealed part of the Torah* and of Chassidus, you will fulfill the mitzvos in the best possible manner, and you will pray with fervor.

הנה יהי רצון שתהי' ההתחלה בשעה טובה ומוצלחת ותלכנה הפעולות הלוך והתרחב כפי הדרוש ועזרתם תהי' בהצלחה מתאים לדרז"ל;

על הכתוב, יברכך ד' וישמרך - יברכך בממון ובנכסים וישמור הממון והנכסים, היינו שינצלו הממון והנכסים באופן הכי טוב ובטוב הנראה והנגלה (ראה ספרי ומד"ר במקומם).

ואשרי חלקם של כל המשתדלים בזה, ויה"ר שע"פ פתגם הרה"ג הרה"ח הרה"צ וכו' הר"ה מפאריטש, יקוים בכאו"א מהם, שכל ההידור במצות ומעשים טובים עושה בשביל שיונח אצלו (עס זאל זיך אפלייגען) א ווארט חסידות, והנחה זו תביא לתוספת בלימוד תורת הנגלה והחסידות בהידור בקיום המצות ובעבודת התפלה.

בברכה ובפ"ש כל המשתדלים בהנ"ל, אשר כמובן גם אליהם כל הנ"ל מכוון.
