To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Shmuel Meir,
Greetings and blessings,
I read with great interest what you write regarding the situation of the community and communal affairs in your city. No doubt, you will play a decisive role in the strengthening and dissemination of Yiddishkeit*, with all that this implies.
Obviously, as explained in Iggeres HaKodesh* and other texts, you will do all this with ahavas Yisroel* (love of one's fellow Jew) and by drawing hearts close to our Father in Heaven. And you know the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe (the Frierdiker Rebbe*), that "every individual is a community." How much more so for Chassidim*, to whom our holy master (the Alter Rebbe*) granted his blessing.
For the Heavenly Court rendered a ruling (on 19 Kislev*, upon the liberation of the Alter Rebbe from the czarist prisons) that in all matters of Torah*, fear of Hashem, and good character traits, those who are bound to him and follow in his path shall prevail, as stated in the summaries and notes on the Tanya*, page 122.
