To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Azriel Zelig (see note 1),

I greet you and bless you.

I received with pleasure your letter from this past Friday, which followed a long silence, although it was of great brevity and I did not find in it the reason for the long interruption in your correspondence.

I saw with pleasure that you will make use of the vacation period to organize a summer camp for the students. Indeed, this period is particularly propitious for instilling in them yiras Shamayim* and, more generally, the spirit of Torah. Indeed, they are not disturbed by secular studies, so that everything depends on the educator and the counselor.

May Hashem grant that you give me good news of all this, as well as of the fact that you "guard your vineyard" (see note 2) — by spreading the wellsprings of Chassidus*, its customs and practices in your surroundings, near and far.

שלום וברכה!

לאחרי שתיקתו הארוכה, נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מיום הששי, אף כי כתוב הוא בקיצור נמרץ, וגם בו לא מצאתי טעם להפסק ארוך במכתביו. ונעם לי לראות במכתבו שינצלו ימי החופש במחנה קיץ להתלמידים, כי הרי דוקא זמן זה מוכשר להחדיר בהתלמידים עניני יראת שמים ורוח התורה בכלל, כיון שאין לימודי חול מבלבלים אותם ואין הדבר תלוי אלא בהמורה והמדריך.

ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל הנ"ל וכן אשר נוטרים את כרמם שלהם היינו הפצת המעינות תורת החסידות הדרכותי' ומנהגי' בסביבתם הקרובה והרחוקה.
