I greet you and bless you.

I am responding to your letter of the 29th of Sivan. I read with pleasure that you have been increasing your Chassidus* classes of late. No doubt you will not content yourself with this, in accordance with the well-known teaching of our Torah, Torah of life, according to which one should ascend from one level to the next.

It is precisely for this reason that the neshamah* descended, "from a lofty peak to a deep pit." Thus, from the state of stagnation it knew before this descent, it can ascend by experiencing true elevation. And everything depends on the will of a Jew, for the capacity is granted to each one.

The reward for all of this is well known and explained in various texts, in particular the commentary that our Sages give on the verse: "If you walk in My statutes." This commentary is as follows: "By exerting yourselves in Torah." Then, "I will give" all the blessings that are stated in the Parshah*.

I send you my blessing for good news of all this, and also regarding your father, as well as the good resolutions taken during the days of the liberation of the 12th and 13th of Tammuz, applying to daily conduct,

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ט סיון, נעם לי לקרות בו שהרבה בזמן האחרון בשיעוריו בדא"ח ובודאי לא יסתפק גם בזה כידועה הוראת תוה"ק תורת חיים שצריך לילך מחיל אל חיל והרי זהו תכלית ירידת הנשמה מאיגרא רמה לבירא עמיקתא בכדי שמבחי' עומד שבה עמדה קודם ירידתה תתעלה לבחי' מהלך, ואין הדבר תלוי אלא ברצון איש הישראלי, כי היכולת בזה ניתנה לכאו"א, וכבר ידוע ושכרו מבואר בכ"מ ומהם בדרז"ל על הכתוב אם בחקותי תלכו ופירשו רז"ל שתהיו עמלים בתורה ונתתי וגו' וכל הברכות המפורשות בפרשה.

בברכה לבשו"ט בכל האמור וע"ד אביו שי', וכן בהנוגע לההחלטות הטובות בימי הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז הבע"ל וקיומם בחיי היום יומי.
