To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter, which you began writing on 13 Sivan and which I have just received. I also received your telegram. I am surprised that you have stopped writing to me, since, as I have written on various occasions to several Chassidim*, it is important, precisely during this period, to have frequent and detailed news of everything that is happening, to the extent possible.

Moreover, people from outside write to me, even often, sometimes to complain. Now, it is difficult to answer them properly and exhaustively when the news from the Chassidim* is lacking or incomplete.

May Hashem grant that in the future, this situation improve, at least as far as you are concerned. And you will influence in this direction all those you can contact.

I have written to several Chassidim* to underscore to them that, inasmuch as the custom of granting vacations to schools has spread in the Holy Land — which includes the Talmud Torahs* and the yeshivos* — the Chassidim* should multiply their efforts and take advantage of these weeks to organize groups of yeshivah* students, particularly from elementary yeshivos*, in order to teach them Chassidus* and spread the wellsprings (see note 2).

I am surprised that you tell me nothing of the manner in which you took advantage of the time you spent in Tzahal*. It seems to me that you served a period of reserve duty there. You surely spoke, encouraged the study of Chassidus*, its customs and its practices.

From what you say, one senses an awakening among the youth of the Chabad* association. One must therefore use this propitious moment, ensure that this awareness takes concrete form, and strengthen it. Chassidus* underscores, indeed, that every good intention must be linked to concrete action. Only then is it enduring.

May Hashem grant that you bring me good news of all this, as well as of your state of health and that of the members of your family.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו שהתחיל לכותבו י"ג סיון - שז"ע נתקבל, וכן המברק, ולפלא ההפסק במכתביו, בה בשעה, שכמו שכתבתי כ"פ ולכמה מאנ"ש, שדוקא בימים אלו נחוצות ידיעות לעתים קרובות וידיעות מפורטות ככל האפשרי ואודות כל הענינים.

ובפרט שמאנשים צדדים מתקבלים מכתבים ולפעמים קרובות גם מכתבי תלונה, וקשה לענות להם באופן הדרוש ובמילואו - כשחסרות ידיעות מאנ"ש, או כשחסרים כמה פרטים בידיעות אלו. ויה"ר שעכ"פ מכאן ולהבא יוטב הנ"ל בהנוגע אליו, וישפיע בזה על כל אלו שידו מגעת.

כתבתי לאיזה מאנ"ש, שכיון שגם באה"ק ת"ו פשטה ההנהגה שצריך להיות ימי חופש מלימוד בבתי חינוך, ובזה נכנסים גם תלמוד תורה'ת וישיבות, צריכים היו אנ"ש להוסיף אומץ לנצל שבועות אלו לארגן כתות מתלמידי הישיבות, ובפרט של הישיבות קטנות, בשביל לימודי החסידות והפצת המעינות...

לפלא שאינו כותב איך ניצל זמן שהותו בצה"ל, שכמדומה הי' שם לשירות מילואים, ובודאי דיבר ועורר בהנוגע לתורת החסידות הדרכותי' ומנהגי'...

כיון שכפי דבריו ניכרת הזזה בצעירי אגו"ח - יש להשתמש בשעת כושר זו, להמשיך ההזזה בענינים של פועל ולחזקה (פארפעסטיגען). וכמבואר בדא"ח, שכל התעוררות צריך להמשיכה בענין של פועל ואז יש לה קיום. ויה"ר שיבש"ט בכל האמור, וכן בהנוגע לבריאותו ובריאות כל ב"ב שיחיו.
