Greetings and blessings,

I am surprised to have received no letter from you for an especially long time, even though I receive indirect news of the success of your activities in the field of education. Now, if this is so outside your four cubits, how much more must you redouble your ardor and effort, in the appropriate manner, in order to "guard my vineyard" (see note 1). For the merit of our holy masters comes to your aid.

Obviously, this includes the preparations, undertaken in good time, for the period commonly called "vacation." You will consult, on this subject, the Zohar*, volume 2, page 20a. It is then necessary to multiply efforts and seize every opportunity to spread the wellsprings (see note 2) outward. For young people and students are then outside the four cubits of Chabad*, wasting the time freed from other preoccupations. You must understand what I mean.

לפלא שזה מזמן רב ביותר שאין ממנו כל מכתבים אף שמן הצד מתקבלים ידיעות מהצלחת פעולותיו בשטח חינוך ואם מחוץ לד' אמות שלו כן עאכו"כ שבודאי מוסיף אומץ והשתדלות ככל הדרוש בנטירת כרמי שלי... ובפרט שזכות רבותנו נשיאנו הק' מסייעים.

ומובן שבזה נכלל גם הכנות בעוד מועד לניצול הימים אשר עמא דבר קורא אותם ימי חופש, ועיין זוהר חלק ב' כ, א, ואדרבה בהם צריך להוסיף אומץ ולנצל האפשריות המתאימה להפצת המעינות חוצה, כיון שכמה אברכים ותלמידים מחוץ לד' אמות של חב"ד מסתובבים וזמנם חפשי מענינים אחרים וד"ל.

ומובן שדברי אלה מכוונים לא רק אליו בלבד אלא לכל אלו אשר ענין הפצת המעינות יקר הוא בעיניהם כגודל ערכו, ובמילא בהתבוננות קלה יבואו להשקפה האמורה, וזה יעורר אצלם המצאות וענינים איך להביא הענין בפועל במדה הכי גדולה, ויה"ר שיסביר את זה האמור בכל מקום שיהי' ואפשר שיביא תועלת והשי"ת יהי' עם פיהו.
