Greetings and blessings,

I received news of you and your request for a blessing for the construction of your home, through the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and carries out a sacred mission, Rav Avraham Lison.

At a propitious time, I will mention your name at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, so that the wish of your heart be fulfilled positively. For a Jew, the spiritual and the material go hand in hand. It is therefore surely unnecessary to underscore to you that you must strengthen your home spiritually.

I mean to say that your four cubits, the portion of the world entrusted to you, will have a character of permanence, sheltered from rains and storms. To achieve this, one must base one's life on Torah* and mitzvos*, which are eternal and powerful, at all times and in all places. You will also consult tractate Sotah* 44a, and the end of the series of Chassidic* discourses entitled "Mayim Rabim*," delivered in 5636 (see note 1), by the Rebbe Maharash*.

All of this will reduce the difficulties you experience in building your home materially, and you will hasten the final outcome.

This Rav also writes to me that your father used to go to the Rebbe Maharash* and would stay with him. I would like more details on this subject. Do you still possess writings or notes (see note 2)?

Likewise, this Rav informs me that you teach in a religious school. It is no doubt unnecessary to specify that this represents a great merit and, simultaneously, an immense responsibility, resting in every era on the shoulders of educators, and how much more so in our generation and in the land toward which "the eyes of Hashem are always directed, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year."

You bear this responsibility and therefore necessarily possess the strength to act in this area, to the fullest extent possible. Thus, everything depends solely on your will. May Hashem grant that you act accordingly, with all your strength. And Hashem will grant you success.

ע"י הרה"ח אי"א נו"נ מלאכתו מלאכת שמים מו"ה אברהם שי' ליסאן, קבלתי ידיעות אודותו ובבקשת ברכה לבנין בית. ובעת רצון אזכירו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע למילוי משאלות לבבו לטובה, וכיון שהרוחני והגשמי אצל איש הישראלי יחד יהלכו, בודאי למותר לעוררו להתחזק בבנין ביתו ברוחניות, כוונתי אשר הד' אמות שלו וחלקו בעולם יהיו באופן של קביעות למחסה מזרם ומטר שזהו בא ע"י שמיוסדים החיים על יסודי התורה והמצוה שהם נצחיים ואיתנים בכל זמן ובכל מקום (יעוין ג"כ סוטה מ"ד ע"א, המשך מים רבים תרל"ו לכ"ק אדמו"ר מוהר"ש בסופו) וזה ימעט הקישוים בבנית בית בגשמיות כפשוטו ויקרב הענין.

הנ"ל כותב לי אשר אביו הי' מהנוסעים והיושבים אצל כ"ק אדמו"ר מוהרש"ב נ"ע, ואתענין לדעת יותר פרטים בזה, ואם נשאר אצלו כתבים או רשימות וכיו"ב.

כן נודעתי מהנ"ל אשר מורה הוא בבית ספר דתי, ובודאי למותר להאריך בגודל הזכות וביחד עם זה גם גודל האחריות אשר על שכם המחנכים בכל התקופות, ועאכו"כ בתקופתנו זו ובארץ אשר עיני ה' אלקיך בה מראשית השנה עד אחרית שנה, וכיון שעל שכמו אחריות זו, בודאי ניתנו לו הכחות לפעול בזה ככל הדרוש, ואין הדבר תלוי אלא ברצון, ויה"ר שיעשה ככל יכולתו, והשי"ת יצליחו.
