To the youth leaders of the Chabad* association, in

the holy city of Yerushalayim*, may it be restored

and rebuilt by our righteous Moshiach*, speedily

and in our days, may Hashem grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter of 28 Iyar*, along with its contents, but its delivery was somewhat delayed. You inform me of your positive accomplishments during the weeks that have just elapsed.

I await further letters, bringing me good news of what has been done since then, particularly of the manner in which you took advantage of the time of the Giving of our Torah* (see note 1) to spread the wellsprings (see note 2) outward, in all areas.

I have good hope that you meet, from time to time, with the elderly Chassidim* and seek their counsel. A well-known and very clear teaching of our Sages underscores the benefit of this (see note 3).

May Hashem grant you success in expanding your activities, with true breadth of spirit. Each of you will receive ample reward for this, in your personal matters.

With my blessing for tremendous success and for good news,

תקותי חזקה שנפגשים מזמן לזמן עם זקני אנ"ש ומתייעצים עמהם, וכנודע ומפורשת הוראת רז"ל בתועלת הדבר, והשי"ת יצליחם להגדיל פעולותיהם מתוך הרחבת הדעת אמיתית ובודאי ישולם להם כ"פ ככה גם בעניניו הפרטים של כל או"א.
