To my close relative, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Yehudah Leib (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 26 Iyar* and I thank you for the good news of the chassidic farbrengen* that was held on the luminous day of Lag BaOmer*, the Hilloula* of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. Although you do not specify this, a Chassidic discourse was surely repeated on this occasion, followed by some talks.

You know the saying of the Alter Rebbe* (see note 2) that "what a chassidic farbrengen* accomplishes, the angel Michael cannot."

Obviously, I am pained to learn that the reading of Tehillim* on the Shabbos* that blesses the month (see note 3) has weakened. May Hashem grant that you find the words to explain to the members of your shul* the importance of this practice, in accordance with the explanation found in a letter of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, published in the "Collection of Letters on the Reading of Tehillim*" and at the end of the Tehillim* Ohel Yosef Yitzchak, which you surely possess.

May Hashem grant that you give me good news of this as well.

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ו אייר, ת"ח על הבשו"ט מהתועדות דיום הבהיר ל"ג בעומר הילולא דרשב"י, ובודאי אף שאין מזכיר עד"ז חזרו מאמר דא"ח והמשיכו בשיחות חסידותיות, וכבר ידוע פתגם רבנו הזקן, שמה שיכולה לפעול התועדות חסידותיות אין אפי' מלאך מיכאל יכול לפעול, ומובן שמצערת החלישות באמירת תהלים בש"ק מברכין, ויה"ר שימצא אותיות המתאימות להסביר לאנשי בית הכנסת גודל הענין ע"פ המבואר באגרות הקדש לכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, נדפס בקונטרס מכתבים דאמירת תהלים, וגם בסוף התהלים אהל יוסף יצחק, שבודאי נמצאים אצלם, ויה"ר שיבשר טוב גם בהאמור.
