To the distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and assumes a sacred mission, of manifold accomplishments, Rav Aharon Mordechai (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of Rosh Chodesh* Sivan and to what it contained.

You are considering various possibilities for using the money left by your brother, may Hashem avenge his blood (see note 2). In my view, one Israeli lira* (see note 3) should be set aside from this amount for each of the heirs. Indeed, various works emphasize the moral aspect of an inheritance (see note 4). Nevertheless, any sum suffices for this purpose, and one can therefore settle for giving a single lira*.

In my opinion, the bulk of this sum should be dedicated to a cause or institution located in Kfar Chabad*, preferably in connection with this year's summer camp or the establishment of a school in which students of the network (see note 5) can continue their studies.

It would also be good, as an exceptional measure, to use part of this sum to purchase siddurim* for each class, or even for the entire school that Simcha directed. May Hashem grant that you make the best decision in this matter. In the future, you will give only good and joyful news — concerning what affects you personally and your communal activities.

P.S.: I thank you for the brochure you enclosed with your letter. To the extent possible, you will publish a second one before the beginning of the school year.

I am enclosing a copy of my letter addressed to all, on the occasion of the general meeting of Nshei* and Bnos* Chabad* that took place here. You will no doubt make use of its content in the appropriate manner.

במענה על מכתבו מר"ח סיון עם המוסגר בו... במ"ש כמה אופנים איך להשתמש בסכום שנשאר מאחיהם הי"ד, הנה א) צריך הי' לתת מסכום זה לירה לכ"א מהיורשים - ומובן זה ע"פ המבואר בכמה ספרים רוחניות הענין דירושה - וכמובן מספיק בזה איזה סכום שיהי' לירה וכיו"ב ועיקר הסכום הרי צריך לדעתי להקדיש, לענין או למוסד הנמצא בכפר חב"ד, ומה טוב בקשר עם הקייטנא בשנה זו או יסוד מוסד המשך לימוד תלמידי בתי ספר הרשת.

מהנכון ג"כ שבאופן חד-פעמי יקנו מסכום הנ"ל סידורים בשביל כל הכתה או גם בית הספר שהיתה בהנהלת שמחה הי"ד. ויהי רצון שיחליטו בכי טוב בכל האמור, ומכאן ולהבא אך בשו"ט ומשמחות יודיעו הן בעניניהם הפרטים והן בעניניהם הכללים.
