To the Rebbetzin*, Mrs. Sarah (see note 1),

Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your letter of 27 Iyar* and I thank you for the good news that the activities of Nshei* and Bnos* Chabad* are being organized in your city. You have had the opportunity to find a permanent location, and in the same way you will also succeed in establishing yourselves spiritually.

In accordance with a saying (see note 2) of the Alter Rebbe*, author of the Tanya* and the Shulchan Aruch*, the permanence must be in the mind. And it has already been said pleasantly on this subject that, according to the law of our Torah*, Torah of life, "that which is established as permanent cannot be annulled" (see note 3).

No doubt the publication of the brochure (see note 4) is progressing, with the appropriate quality. It has always been true that "all that is choice shall be consecrated to Hashem," and the Rambam* explains that what belongs to the domain of holiness must be chosen — including in the literal, material sense. But how much more so in this orphaned generation, where it is now necessary to attract people toward the inner dimension, at least initially, through outward beauty.

Although you say nothing about it, I have good hope that you will take advantage of the time of the Giving of our Torah* (see note 5) to expand your activities, extending them in the broadest proportions. Indeed, these days are propitious, as are those preceding them.

All of this was briefly explained in my letter (see note 6) addressed to the general meeting of Nshei* and Bnos* of the Chabad* association, which took place here. May you succeed in this, through the generosity of spirit of each of your members, your participants, and above all, those who lead them.

במענה על מכתבה מכ"ז אייר, ת"ח על הבשורה טובה שמתבססות פעולות אגודת נשי ובנות חב"ד במחנם הט' וכשם שעלה בידן למצוא מקום קבוע כפשוטו כן תצליחנה גם כן במציאת מקום קבוע ברוחניות, וכפתגם רבנו הזקן בעל התניא והשולחן ערוך, קביעות בנפש, וכבר נאמר על דרך הצחות בכגון דא, אשר דין תורתנו תורת חיים, שקבוע אינו בטל.

בטח מתקדם ענין הדפסת החוברת ובהידור המתאים, ואם בכל התקופות נאמר כל חלב לה' ופירש הרמב"ם שכל עניני קדושה צריכים להיות מן המובחר גם כפשוטו בגשם, עאכו"כ בדור יתום זה שמוכרחים להמשיך את האדם לענין פנימי עכ"פ בתחלת ההשתדלות על ידי הידור חיצוני.

אף שאינה מזכרת על דבר זה, תקותי שגם זמן מתן תורתנו תנצלנה להרחבת עבודתן והתפשטותה בממדים הכי גדולים, כי ימי סגולה הם והימים שלפניהם וכאמור, אף כי בקיצור, במכתבי לאסיפה הכללית של נשי ובנות אגודת חב"ד כאן, ויהי רצון שגם זה יהי' בהצלחה ומתוך הרחבת הדעת של כל אחת ואחת מהחבירות והמשתתפות ולכל לראש - דהעומדות בראש.
