To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and assumes a sacred mission, Rav Azriel (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter of this Tuesday, which followed a particularly long silence, and I found in it no reason justifying why you ceased writing to me for so long.

You inform me of your sacred work in your city and its development. Without a doubt, you will not content yourself with this. You will expand it, both quantitatively and qualitatively, in accordance with the needs of the moment. Certainly, there is ample opportunity for this. Likewise, your wife will make full use of her abilities in your city, for everything depends on motivation.

You mention the construction of a mikveh*. It is regrettable that it is still in the process of being built. In this matter, each day is comparable to an entire world, as you must understand. Here too, everything depends on the will of those who devote themselves to this project, for the possibility is entirely granted. I await good news regarding all of this.

On the occasion of the approaching festival of Shavuos*, may we merit, together with all of Israel, in accordance with the formulation of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, to receive the Torah* with joy and in an inward manner.

The sending of this letter was delayed, and in the meantime I received your letter of 14 Sivan. You are considering a visit here. However, it is necessary to verify whether, given the change in the situation (see note 2), you will be granted a return visa (see note 3). Naturally, you will make this inquiry discreetly. You must understand the reason for this.

Concerning your birthday, you will surely adopt the customs of the chassidim* on this occasion. May Hashem grant that you have a year of success in fulfilling your mission, since "I was created to serve my Creator."

You will train, with generosity of spirit, students who will be chassidim*, who fear Heaven, and who are erudite.

לאחרי שתיקתו הכי ארוכה נתקבל מכתבו מיום השלישי (וגם בו לא נמצאת כל סיבה להפסק הכתיבה משך כל הזמן).

בו כותב ע"ד עבודתו בקדש במחנם הט' והתפשטותה, ובטח לא יסתפקו בזה וירחיבוה הן בכמות והן באיכות מתאים לדרישת השעה, ובודאי יש כר נרחב שגם זוגתו תחי' תנצל כשרונותי' במחנם הט' במילואה, ואין הדבר תלוי אלא ברצון.

במ"ש אודות בנין המקוה, הנה חבל שכנראה עדיין באמצע העבודה בזה ואף שבכגון דא כל יום ויום עולם מלא הוא, וד"ל, ובודאי אשר גם בזה הדבר תלוי ברצון המתעסקים בזה, כי היכולת ניתנה להם ככל הדרוש, ואחכה לבשו"ט בכל האמור.

ולקראת חג השבועות הבע"ל, הנה בלשון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר יה"ר שנזכה בתכ"י לקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות.
