Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your undated letter, in which you mention the text of the engagement document that is customary among us.

It is true that the author of this text is the Tzemach Tzedek*. I possess a photograph of this engagement document, to which the Tzemach Tzedek* made handwritten additions (see note 1). The line endings are not aligned and there is no mention of a penalty (see note 2).

At your engagement, you surely delivered a Chassidic discourse. I am surprised that you say nothing about this in your letter.

I reiterate my blessings that this engagement take place at a good and fruitful time. You will build a Jewish home, an everlasting edifice, based on the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, as they are illuminated by the luminary of the Torah* — which is the teaching of Chassidus*.

With my blessing of Mazal Tov* and for receiving the Torah* with joy and in a profound manner (see note 3),

במענה על מכתבו - בלי הוראת זמן הכתיבה - בו כותב אודות נוסח התנאים אשר אצלנו.

הנה נכון הדבר שזהו הנוסח מכ"ק אדמו"ר הצמח צדק, ויש תחת ידי פוטוגרפיא מהתנאים והצ"צ הוסיף גם בגוף כתי"ק, וגם בו אין סופי השורות שוות וכו' נוסף על שאין נמצא שם ע"ד קנס וכו'.

בודאי בעת קשוה"ת שלו חזר מאמר דא"ח, ולפלא שאינו מזכיר עד"ז במכתבו.

ואכפול ברכותי שיהיו הקשו"ת בשעה טובה ומוצלחת ולבנין בית בישראל בנין עדי עד על יסודי התורה והמצוה כפי שהם מוארים במאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות.

בברכת מזל טוב ולקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות.
