To the inhabitants of Kfar Chabad* and the members

of their families, may Hashem* grant you long life,

Extensive greetings and blessings without limit,

I have duly received your collective request for a blessing (see note 2). I read it, on the eve of Rosh Chodesh* of the month of the giving of the Torah*, at the resting place of the founder of Kfar Chabad*, who directs it — my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, who continues to carry out his mission and invokes profound mercy so that the wish of your hearts be fulfilled in a positive way — that the Kfar* strengthen itself and develop, that it assume its role as a center for the dissemination of the wellsprings (see note 3) in the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, with peace of mind and body, with breadth of spirit, with joy and enthusiasm.

I propose that, during the twenty-four hours of the time of the giving of the Torah* (see note 4) — which is also the Hilula* of David, the anointed king, and of the Baal Shem Tov* — you divide yourselves into groups to recite Tehillim* and study Chassidus*, residents of the Kfar*, Chassidim*, and students from Lod, who will celebrate the festival in that place. And you will conclude the festival with a fraternal Chassidic gathering, for "we all have one Father." You will draw from it inspiration and adopt good resolutions to strengthen everything that concerns the Kfar*, in particular the schools located there, to create new ones as well, and in particular a vocational printing school and a seminary for young women.

I grant you my blessing that there be fulfilled in you, within all of Israel, the words of the One Who gives the Torah*: "You shall walk in My statutes, keep My Mitzvos*, and perform them." These statutes will be engraved (see note 5) in the Torah* and engraved in the spirit. They will bring infinite advancement, and they will be performed with the right hand, as explained in the Chassidic discourse entitled "If You Walk in My Statutes," of 5626 (see note 6). Consequently, "the earth will yield its produce and the tree of the field its fruit... You will dwell securely... I will grant peace... I will remove wild beasts... I will walk among you... and I will lead you upright." Our Sages* explain, in tractate Bava Basra 75a, that this refers to two statures — that of the revealed part of the Torah* and that of Chassidus*, that of the soul and that of the body, materially and spiritually.

I send you my blessing to receive the Torah* with joy and in a profound manner (see note 7), to share good news of a visible and tangible good. Indeed, all opinions are unanimous that Shavuos* is also "for you" (see note 8). And may we immediately know the true and complete Redemption.

For obvious reasons, this message also reaches you by telegram (see note 9), in an abbreviated form.

הצעתי שמשך המעת לעת דזמן מתן תורתנו שהוא גם הילולא דדוד מלכא משיחא והבעל שם טוב, יתחלקו למשמורות אומרי תהלים ולמשמורות לומדי חסידות - אנשי הכפר ואנ"ש ומתלמידי לוד שיחוגו בכפר חב"ד ויסיימו ויחתמו היו"ט בהתועדות חסידותיית כאחים ממש כי אב אחד לכולנה ובהתעוררות והחלטות לחיזוק כל עניני הכפר וביחוד מוסדות החינוך הקימים וביסוד חדשים ביסל"מ דפוס וסמינר לבנות ועוד.

בברכה שיקוימו בהם, בתוך כלל ישראל דברי נותן התורה בחקותי (חקיקה שבתורה וחקיקה שבנפש) תלכו (מהלכים בלי גבול) ואת מצותי תשמרו ועשיתם (ביד ימין. עיין ד"ה אם בחוקותי בס' המאמרים תרכ"ו) אותם גו' ונתנה הארץ יבולה ועץ השדה יתן פריו גו' וישבתם לבטח גו' ונתתי שלום גו' והשבתי חי' רעה גו' והתהלכתי בתוככם גו' ואולך אתכם קוממיות וכדרז"ל (ב"ב עה, א) שתי קומות בתורה הנגלה ובתורת החסידות בנפש ובגוף בגשמיות וברוחניות.

ובברכת קבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות, לבשורות טובות בטוב הנראה והנגלה (כי כ"ע מודי בעצרת דבעינן לכם) ולאלתר לגאולה האמתית והשלימה.
