To the participants in the public study, given by the Rav*,
the distinguished Chassid* who devotes himself to communal
needs, Rav* Chaim Eliezer (see note 1) HaLevi,
Greetings and blessings,
I received with pleasure your letter, in which you mention your sacred addition — the study of the Tehillim* of the Sweet Singer of Israel, in addition to the studies you have had until now. This is timely, since we are approaching the Hilula* (see note 2) of David, King of Israel, who is alive and enduring.
Our Sages* say that King David prayed that his Tehillim* be read, that one meditate upon them, and that one be rewarded as if one had studied the laws of plagues and the transmission of impurity (see note 3).
May Hashem* grant that you experience ascent from one level to the next, in accordance with the teaching of Chassidus*, the Word of the living Elokim*, with joy and enthusiasm, until the promise is fulfilled that "David, My servant, shall be their prince forever," with the coming of our righteous Moshiach*, very soon and in our days.
With my blessing to receive the Torah* with joy and in a profound manner (see note 4),

בנועם קבלתי מכתבם בו כותבים אשר הוסיפו בקדש ללמוד גם ספר התהלים לנעים זמירות ישראל, נוסך על השיעורים דעד עתה, ומילתא היא שהזמן גרמא שמתקרבים אנו ליום ההילולא של דוד מלך ישראל החי וקים, אשר כמאמר רז"ל התפלל שיהיו קורין בהם - במזמורי תהלים - והוגים בהם, ונוטלים עליהם שכר כנגעים ואהלות, ויהי רצון אשר ילכו מחיל אל חיל ומתאים להוראת תורת החסידות תורת אלקים חיים בשמחה ובטוב לבב עדי יקוים היעוד, ודוד עבדי נשיא עליהם לעולם בביאת משיח צדקנו במהרה בימינו.
