To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your letter from this Monday, which supplemented the news I receive from the Chassidim* of the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt by our righteous Moshiach*.

No doubt you are visiting not only Kfar Chabad*, but also all the Chabad* institutions of our Holy Land. And you are taking part in the Chassidic gatherings that take place during these propitious days. This is important in every place, but even more so in the land toward which "the eyes of Hashem* are always turned, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year."

In accordance with the well-known Chassidic saying (see note 2), when Jews meet, a benefit results for each of them and, even more, for another Jew. Indeed, one can clearly observe that such a meeting is permeated with love of one's fellow and Chassidic warmth.

On the occasion of the festival of Shavuos*, the time of the giving of our Torah*, which is approaching — for us and for all of Israel, for the good — I wish you and all of yours, in the formulation that my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, customarily used, to receive the Torah* with joy and in a profound manner.
