To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*
and devotes himself to communal needs,
Rav* Yisrael Tzvi (see note 1) HaLevi,
Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter from the luminous day of the Hilula* of Rabbi Shimon ben Yochai (see note 2), in which you tell me that you hope to continue corresponding with those whom you have begun to bring closer to the Torah* and Jewish practice.
No doubt you will not content yourself with merely continuing your work in this manner, for our Torah*, the Torah* of life, advocates addition. In accordance with the well-known ruling of the Torah*, one must ascend in matters of holiness. Moreover, in our era, every moment is particularly precious, as affirmed by a saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, who says of King Moshiach*: "Behold, he stands behind our wall." Nevertheless, there remain "small vessels" (see note 3) whose elevation must still be accomplished.
One can deduce from this how important it is to develop activities for the Nshei* and Bnos* Chabad*. This addition, even if relatively modest, will have a vastly increased effect in your surroundings, for women are talkative and active (see note 4).

במענה על מכתבו מיום הבהיר הילולא דרשב"י, בו כותב שמקוה להמשיך ע"י קישור מכתבים עם אותם שהתחיל להשפיע עליהם לקרבם לתורה ויהדות, ובודאי לא יסתפק בהמשך בלבד, כי תורתנו תורת חיים דורשת להוסיף, וכפסק הידוע דמעלין בקדש, ובפרט בזמננו שכל רגע יקר ביותר וביותר, מתאים לפתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר אשר הנה זה (מלכא משיחא) עומד אחר כתלנו, אלא שצריך לסיים בירורי הפכים קטנים, ומזה מובן ג"כ עד כמה נחוצה התרחבות פעולת נשי ובנות חב"ד, אשר ע"י הוספה אפילו קטנה לפי ערך בהן, מתוסף כמה פעמים ככה בסביבתן, כי נשים דברניות הן ועסקניות הן...
