To the great Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 14 Iyar*. You tell me that according to some, one must redouble efforts to establish peace, for it is more important than any other value. It is clear that the saying "great is peace" is correct, as several explanations of our Sages* also indicate, in particular the conclusion of the Midrash Esther Rabbah*. More generally, everything depends on peace.

Nevertheless, it is quite obvious that other actions must not be delayed, not even for a single moment, on this account. As a well-known letter of the Rebbe Rashab* states — reproduced in the introduction to the Kuntres U'Maayan*, at page 22 — the transformation of matter no longer follows an established order in our days (see note 2). Consequently, one must accomplish everything that presents itself. You will consult this text.

You mention the Mikveh* of Kibbutz Mefalsim. It would be necessary to contact the center for family purity in Jerusalem. Obviously, you may tell the director of this center, the great Rav* Halperin, that you are contacting him on my advice.

You will write to me to let me know the status of the construction of the Mikveh* and of everything that was discussed previously.

במענה על מכתבו מי"ד אייר... ובמ"ש שי"א שצריך להכות בתעמולה ופעולות עד שישרה השלום בין... כי השלום ביניהם גדול מהכל, מובן שאף שצודק האומר בפתגמו שגדול השלום וכידוע בכמה דרשות רז"ל ומובן גם מסיום המדרש אסתר רבה בסופו, שברוב השלום תלוים כל הענינים אבל פשוט ג"כ שאין לעכב שאר הפעולות אפילו לרגע וע"פ מכתב הידוע של כ"ק אדמו"ר (מוהרש"ב) נ"ע הועתק במבוא לקונטרס ומעין (עמוד כב) שבזמננו זה אין זה סדר לבירורים וצריך להתעסק בכל הבא לידו יעו"ש...

במ"ש אודות ענין מקוה בקבוץ מפלסים, צריך הי' להתדבר עם מרכז טהרת המשפחה בירושלים עיה"ק ת"ו ומובן שהרשות בידו לאמר ליו"ר המרכז הרה"ג כו' הלפרין שי' שעושה זה ע"פ הצעתי ובטח יכתוב מהמשך הדבר, בקשר בנין המקוה ובכל הנ"ל.
