Greetings and blessings,

You tell me that your son, to whom Hashem* will grant long life, does not always listen to you. In such a case, very often, the words of friends have more effect than those coming from both friends and relatives combined. You will no doubt find people who have influence over your son, who will speak to him about what you wrote to me — once, then a second time, then many times. May Hashem* grant that they achieve success.

Another point, which is essential: you must exert influence on your surroundings, so that all become uncompromising Jews (see note 1). Obviously, such people will not content themselves with half-hearted conduct (see note 2). Hashem*, Who probes the hearts, will see that you are doing everything in your power so that your fellow adopts conduct in accordance with His Will. Then, in His manner, acting "measure for measure" (see note 3) but in a greatly increased proportion, He will reward you, as well as your children and grandchildren, to whom Hashem* will grant long life.

As you requested, your contribution has been transmitted to schools based on sacred values at Kfar Chabad*, in our Holy Land — may it be restored and rebuilt by our righteous Moshiach*. You thereby receive the merit of positioning a true Guardian in our Holy Land, for all who inhabit it (see note 4).

To employ the wording of the verse, in Psalm 127: "Hashem* will build the house... Hashem* will guard the city." Indeed, it is only in such a case that the houses built by men truly have a reason for being, that a guardian of flesh and blood is truly effective. Rabbi Abba bar Kahana, Rabbi Ami, and Rabbi Assi explain all of this at length in the introduction of the Midrash Rabbah* to Eichah Rabbasi*.

May Hashem* grant that we soon merit the coming of the righteous redeemer, with kindness and mercy.

... ובמה שכותב אודות בנו שליט"א שלא תמיד שומע לדבריו, הנה בכגון דא לפעמים רבות מועילים דברי ידידים יותר מאשר דברי ידידים וקרובים גם יחד, ובטח יכול למצוא אנשים בעלי השפעה על בנו שידברו עם בנו אודות הענין שכותב פעם ופעמים ופעמים רבות, ויה"ר שיצליחו, ועוד והוא העיקר שעליו להשתדל להשפיע בסביבתו שיהיו אידן אן פשרות, ואצ"ל שלא יסתפקו בהנהגה של פיפטי פיפטי, וה' יראה ללבב שמשתדל בכל כחו בזולתו שיתנהג מתאים לרצון העליון, ואז במדתו של הקב"ה שהיא מדה כנגד מדה אלא שכמה פעמים ככה ישולם לו בהנוגע לבניו ובני בניו שליט"א.

שבארצנו הק' תבנה ותכונן על ידי משיח צדקנו, ואשרי שלוקח חלק להעמיד שומר האמיתי על ארצנו הק' ותושבי', ובלישנא דקרא, ה' יבנה בית וה' ישמר עיר (שאז דוקא יש תועלת בבנינים של בו"ד ובשומר בו"ד - תהלים קכ"ז), וכמבואר בארוכה ע"י ר' אבא בר כהנא ור' אמי ור' אסי, בפתיחתא במד"ר לאיכה רבתי, ויה"ר שבמהרה נזכה לביאת גואל צדק בחסד וברחמים.
