Greetings and blessings,

An emissary is presumed to carry out the mission entrusted to him, especially when it involves a public service such as the postal service (see note 1). Despite this, I confirm having duly received your letter, with what was enclosed. I read it, on the eve of this Rosh Chodesh*, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us.

May Hashem* fulfill, positively and very soon, the wishes of your heart and those of your wife, enabling you to find a good match for your daughter, who will have long life. And may this take place in a Chassidic* manner, in the way of your parents and your grandparents, so as to introduce a way of life that will be in accordance with your will. You will derive much satisfaction from them, in good health and with breadth of spirit.

As you know, various texts explain that Iyar* (see note 2) is composed of the initials of the Heavenly Chariot (see note 3), in accordance with the interpretation of our Sages* (see note 4) linking Ziv*, the radiance (see note 5), with "those who made the world radiant" (see note 6). And numerous texts also comment on the service of Hashem* performed in the manner of a chariot (see note 7).

(Notes in the original:

1. A priori, it is therefore unnecessary to acknowledge receipt of a letter, as there is no reason to think that the postal service has not delivered it.

2. The Rebbe notes in a footnote: 'This is the present month. And the Zohar*, Volume 3, page 117b states: He blessed... Aharon, that they may bless... The house of Aharon includes the women as well... The second month is that of radiance, a blessing of the world from which it emanates... Everything is found in this radiance...'

3. That is, the initials of Avraham, Yitzchak, Yaakov, Rachel — the four supports of the Heavenly Chariot. See, regarding this, Letter no. 479.
