To the Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal activities, Rav* Yechiel Michel Yehudah Leib (see note 1),
Greetings and blessings,
I read with pleasure your letter regarding the distribution of Matzah Shemurah*, but I am a little surprised that the quantity was not larger. Admittedly, in the deeper dimension, the quantity matters little, especially when it concerns Pesach*, for the attribute of good... (see note 2). Indeed, the prohibition of Chametz* applies even to the most minute quantity, and one can deduce from this the value of even a minute quantity of good. Nevertheless, at the Seder*, one should take a Kezayis* (see note 3), especially if the one receiving this Matzah* is not aware of the importance of the qualitative, which is independent of the quantitative.
You tell me that the Yeshivos* are currently on vacation and that, as a result, the Chassidus* classes have fewer participants. I am surprised by this, for it is precisely during this period that one is most free. These classes should therefore be multiplied — in the same location or wherever everyone goes (see note 4) — by putting them in contact with the appropriate people (see note 5).
In these days, a minute quantity is very important (see note 6). And this is so materially, precisely because it is also the case in the spiritual dimension. All of this is therefore fundamental, and one must use the days of Pesach* to devote oneself to the study that strengthens faith. This may seem less essential now (see note 7), but from time to time, other festivals occur, and what has been said applies to them as well, even before the next Pesach*.
No doubt you are making eager preparations for the day of Lag BaOmer*, which approaches, in order to make the fullest use of it. I will ask the Chassidim* to participate in the necessary expenses for this, up to a certain amount.
With my blessing to share good news regarding all of this.
No doubt you are continuing and intensifying your activities within the framework of the women and girls of Chabad*.
