To Rav* Garelik (see note 1), Kfar Chabad*,

I have duly received your telegram (see note 2). A fast on Thursday (see note 3), lasting until midday, will be instituted for the healthy adults.

It would be good for this fast to be observed also by the healthy adults of all the schools and all the Chabad* Yeshivos* in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt.

May Hashem* protect each and every one, in accordance with the expression of the Alter Rebbe* (see note 4), through the Attribute of Mercy, which is more powerful than the attribute of good, is an inheritance without limit, extending from one extreme to the other.

ומהנכון שכן יעשו גם הגדולים בריאים אשר בכל מוסדות חנוך וישיבות חב"ד שבאה"ק תובב"א. והשי"ת ישמרם כל אחד ואחת כדברי רבנו הזקן במדת הרחמים שהיא גדולה ממדת החסד נחלה בלי מצרים מבריח מן הקצה כו'.
