To the great Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav* Eliezer (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letters from the conclusion of the festival of Pesach* and those that followed. Likewise, I received, in due time, your letter of 9 Shevat* and the one that preceded it.

We have just experienced the festival of Pesach*, the time of our liberation, in the sense of our Torah*, the Torah of life, which is also a Torah of truth.

May Hashem* grant that you announce good news to me soon. You will tell me that in good health and with peace of mind, you are increasing your studies of our Torah* — its revealed dimension and Chassidus*.

You will be generous toward others and lead them as well to such study, in accordance with the well-known teaching (see note 2): "Your wellsprings shall spread outward." And very soon, we will merit the fulfillment of the promise that will mark the coming of our righteous Moshiach*.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתביו ממוצאי חה"פ ושלאחריו, כן נתקבלו בעתם מכ' מט' שבט והקודם לו. וכיון שזה עתה אזלינן מימי חג הפסח זמן חירותנו, חירות במובנה של תורתנו תורת חיים היא תורת אמת, הנה יה"ר שבקרוב ממש יבשר טוב שמתוך בריאות הנכונה ובמנוחת הדעת מוסיף שיעורים בלימוד תורתנו בנגלה ובחסידות, ותהי' עינו טובה גם בשל אחרים לעוררם ג"כ בלימודים אלו, מתאים להפתגם הידוע יפוצו מעינותיך חוצה, ובמהרה נזכה לקיום היעוד דקאתי מר ביאת משיח צדקנו.
