To the leaders of Kfar Chabad*, may Hashem* grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received the reports of your meetings of 27 Shevat*, 2 and 15 Adar*, 5 Nissan*. It seems, thank Hashem*, that everything is on the right track. May Hashem* grant that this proceed quickly and that there be no obstacles, barriers, or veils — material or spiritual.

You do not provide details about the construction of the Mikveh*, but your letter indicates that it will be housed in an old building. I fear that insufficient importance is being accorded, as it should be, to the external appearance of the pool and the rooms surrounding it. You know how much attention our holy masters paid to this. For upon the external appearance depend the depth and the essential element.

On this subject, it would be good for you to consult specialists in such improvements. Insofar as possible, you will strive to ensure that the external appearance is satisfactory and even beautiful. Obviously, the Mikveh* must be clean, which depends, to a large extent, on suitable materials for the floor and the walls. This requirement is not merely external; it is also a matter of depth.

You tell me that you were able to observe the success of the festival of Purim* at Kfar Chabad*, and I am pleased by this. May Hashem* grant that in other areas as well, success be tangible. In this way, the ardor and effort will be redoubled in the other concerns of the Kfar* as well.

On this subject, I will repeat what I have already written to you (see note 1). At each of these festivals, one must arrange for financial income — for example, by providing cakes and fruits for the guests who come and spend a few hours at the Kfar*. By reflecting on this, you will surely be able to expand all of this, which will also have a moral benefit (see note 2), even more important than the material benefit. And you know the teaching according to which "the material well-being of my fellow is my spirituality."

You have surely prepared Matzah Shemurah* at the Kfar*. I would like to know the details on this subject and the success you have met with.

I send you my blessing of success in your sacred mission, which will bring about immense success in the personal concerns of all those who make efforts in this matter, together with all the members of their families.

מאשר הנני קבלת הפ"כ מהאסיפות דכ"ז שבט, ב' ט"ו אדר, וה' ניסן, ות"ל אשר כנראה הענינים מתחילים להכנס במסלול, ויה"ר שיהי' במהירות ובלי עכובים העלמות והסתרים הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות.

אינם מזכירים פרטים ע"ד אופן בניית המקוה, אבל ממכתבם ניכר שזהו בדירה ישנה וכו' וששני שלא ישגיחו ככל הדרוש בהנוגע למראה החיצוני של המקוה והחדרים סביבה, וכבר ידוע עד כמה דקדקו כ"ק רבותינו נשיאנו הק' בכגון דא, כי בחיצוניות זו תלוי הפנימית ועיקר הדברים, וכדאי הי' שיתייעצו בהנוגע לבעיא זו ביחוד עם מומחים בשיפורים כאלו, וישתדלו אשר ככל האפשרי תהי' אפילו החיצוניות על הצד היותר טוב ואפילו יפה, ואצ"ל בהנוגע לנקיון (התלוי במדה חשובה באופן חומר מתאים להרצפה והכתלים וכו') אשר זה לא רק חיצוניות אלא גם פנימיות...

נהניתי ממ"ש שראו במוחש הצלחת חגיגת פורים בכפר חב"ד, ויה"ר שההצלחה גם בשאר הענינים תהי' באופן מוחשי ובמילא תביא לתוספת אומץ והשתדלות גם בשאר עניני הכפר. ובקשר עם זה אעורר עוד הפעם על מה שכתבתי כבר, שבקשר אם כל חגיגה יש לסדר בכפר גם ענינים של פרנסה, וכמו עריכת מיני מזונות, פירות וכו' בשביל האורחים הבאים (כיון שמבלים הם בכפר כמה שעות) וכיו"ב, ובהתבוננות בטח יש להרחיב מסגרת זו, ותהי' בזה תועלת רוחנית עוד רבה על התועלת בגשמיות אף שידוע הפתגם, יענעמס גשמיות איז בא מיר רוחניות...

בודאי אפו מצה שמורה בכפר, ואתענין לדעת הפרטים בזה וההצלחה שהיתה בזה.
