Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 24 Nissan* and the three that preceded it, with the enclosed request for a blessing, which was read this day at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. You were the emissary to transmit this request to me, and may Hashem* grant that you also be the one to bring me good news in this matter.

I read with pleasure in your letter that you are preparing to make special use of Lag BaOmer*, which approaches. This year, it is a day on which the parents are free from their work and the children from their secular studies (see note 2). One must therefore strive to gather the friends of the students as well — that is, those who, for the time being, do not yet attend Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak*.

This also applies to the prayer service that you organize for the students. Here, too, it is good that it be attended by those who are not yet your students. Supervision should ensure that the presence of outside elements not be detrimental, Heaven forbid. No doubt you will inform me of all this with all the necessary details.

I send you my blessing of success in your sacred mission, through which your success will surely be increased in your personal concerns as well, in accordance with the teaching of the Alter Rebbe* at the beginning of Torah Or*: "Through Tzedakah*, one obtains a mind and heart a thousand times more refined." And it is explained elsewhere, in the notes of the Tzemach Tzedek*, at the same reference, that the word 'thousand' is by no means an exaggeration. It must be interpreted in the most literal sense.

With my blessing,

You are surely continuing to recite Chassidus* (see note 3). This is very important and no doubt changes the manner in which the students of Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* regard you.

The organization of a summer camp is particularly judicious and truly necessary. Subsequently, it will even be a source of revenue.

במענה על מכתביו מכ"ד ניסן (וג' הקודמים) עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו, אשר נקרא היום על הציון ק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ויה"ר שכשם שהי' שליח להביא הבקשה יצליחו השי"ת שיהי' ג"כ שליח להביא בשו"ט בזה.

נעם לי לקרות במכתבו שמתכוננים לנצל ל"ג בעומר הבע"ל באופן מיוחד, והרי בשנה זו חל ביום שפנוים ההורים ממלאכתם והתלמידים מלימודי חול,ובמילא כדאי להשתדל שיצטרפו אליהם גם חברי תלמידיהם, היינו אפילו אלו שלע"ע עדיין אינם לומדים באהלי יוסף יצחק, וה"ה בהנוגע להמנין מיוחד שמסדרים בשביל התלמידים, שגם בזה כדאי להשתדל שיבואו ג"כ מכאלו שעדיין אין לומדים אצלם, ובודאי יש לסדר השגחה באופן שח"ו לא יקלקלו אותם הבאים מבחוץ, ובטח יכתוב מכל הנ"ל בפרטיות הדרושה.

בברכת הצלחה בעבודת הקדש שעל ידה תתרבה בודאי הצלחה גם בעניניו

הפרטים מתאים להוראת רבנו הזקן אשר על ידי צדקה נעשים מוחו ולבו זכים אלף פעמים ככה (תורה אור בתחלתו) וכבר מבואר במ"א אשר האמור אלף פעמים, הוא לא בדרך גוזמא אלא בפשטות הל' (הגהות הצ"צ שם).
