To the great Rav*, a man who fears Hashem* and carries out a sacred mission, Rav* Yehudah Zeev (see note 1) HaLevi,

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter, requesting a blessing for that person, who will have long life. It seems to me that I wrote to him about two years ago. I enclose the response that I am addressing to him. You were the emissary to transmit this request, and Hashem* will therefore allow you to be the one who announces the good news.

You will also announce good news to me regarding the Yeshivah* (see note 2). You will tell me, in particular, that the beginning of wisdom and its foundation are being multiplied there — that is, the fear of Hashem*, the love of Hashem*, the perpetual Mitzvos* that apply at all times and in all places, for each man and each woman, as specified in the introduction of the Chinuch*.

You should also consult the holy Tanya*, introduction to the second part — "Educate the child." All of this will develop the wisdom itself (see note 3). The Mishnah* says, indeed, that "when the fear of sin precedes..." (see note 4).

You invest your efforts in this work, and your merit is therefore considerable. It will enable you to obtain, together with your family, every material and spiritual good. You will derive, above all, true satisfaction from all your children and also from the other children who are the students.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו פ"נ עבור... שליט"א (כמדומה שלפני שנתיים כתבתי לו), ומוסג"פ המענה אליו, ויה"ר שכשם שהי' כת"ר שליח להביא בקשת הנ"ל, יצליחו השי"ת לבשר טוב בזה וגם לבשו"ט בהנוגע לעניני הישיבה, ומהם, אשר מרבים בראשית החכמה ויסודה הם יראת ה', אהבת ה', מצות תמידיות בכל זמן ובכל מקום ובכל אחד ואחת, וכמובא בהקדמת ספר החינוך ויעוין ג"כ בספר תניא קדישא הקדמת חלק שני ד"ה חנוך לנער ובמילא יתוסף גם בהחכמה עצמה וכפסק המשנה כל שיראת חטאו קודמת כו'.

וגדול זכות כת"ר המשתדל ומתעסק בזה להשפיע לו ולכל ב"ב שיחיו רוב טוב בגשמיות וברוחניות ובעיקר בנחת אמיתי מכל יו"ח שיחיו, ומלבניך אלו התלמידים.
