To the great Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav* Alexander Sender (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter of 8 Nissan*, with its contents. I read with pleasure how you were able to observe that the heart of Israel is awakened toward the Torah* and its Mitzvos*, and that everything depends solely on the one who arouses the awareness.

May Hashem* grant that you multiply such visits (see note 2), that you meet with success, and that you serve as an example to the other Chassidim*, who will emulate you. It seems we have not yet merited that this take place within the framework of Chabad*. Were that the case, there would be more enthusiasm and warmth, for the one who assigns the mission must necessarily intervene, whether outwardly or in a deeper manner.

May the visits made until now therefore serve to prepare all of this, in addition to the essential contribution they have already made! You will be able to exert your influence on the other people who share this mission with you, in order to bring them warmth and light, so that they may communicate these to others in the places you visit.

You mention accessible books and booklets. You will find several among the works published by Kehot* Publishing, in the Holy Land. You will specify which booklets suit you, and a letter will be sent from here to the Holy Land on this matter.

With my blessing on the occasion of the festival,

שלום וברכה!

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מח' ניסן עם המוסגר בו, ונעם לי לקרות בו מאשר ראה במוחש שלב ישראל ער הוא לתורה ולמצותי' ואין הדבר תלוי אלא בהמעורר, ויה"ר שיוסיף בביקוריו בכגון דא ויצליח בהם וישמש דוגמא חי' גם לשאר מאנ"ש שממנו יראו וכן יעשו. ואף שכנראה עדיין לא זכינו שיעשו הדברים במסגרת חב"ד שאז בודאי היו נעשים בתוספת אור וחיות, כי אי אפשר שהמשלח לא יפעול אם בדרך מקיף או בדרך פנימי. ויה"ר שישמש הבקור באופן דעד עתה גם בתור הכנה להאמור נוסף על הענין הכי גדול הנעשה גם בבקורו באופן כזה, והרי אפשר שיוכל לנצל השפעתו גם על שאר הנוסעים עתה בתור שלוחים כמותו להוסיף בהם חמימות ואור עד שיהי' טופח ע"מ להטפיח בהמקומות בם מבקרים.

במ"ש אודות ספרים וקונטרסים קלים, בטח ימצא כמה מהם בספרי הוצאת קה"ת הנמצאים באה"ק ת"ו, ויודיע לכאן איזה מהקונטרסים וכו' ואז יכתבו מכאן לאה"ק ת"ו בנדון זה.
