To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*,

Rav Yisrael Yitzchak (Rav I. I. Halperin, of Yerushalayim),

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter bearing good news, in which you tell me that you are settling at Kfar Chabad* (an identical letter was also sent to Rav Chaim Meir Garelik, who was also settling at Kfar Chabad*). May Hashem* grant that by changing your place, you change your mazal*, for good and for blessing. You will increase what pertains to "the candle (which) is a mitzvah* and the Torah* (which) is a light," as well as the luminary of the Torah*, which is Chassidus*, and you will influence your fellow to do the same.

Residing at Kfar Chabad* constitutes a great merit. Its founder, who directs it, is my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, leader of Yisrael*. He invokes Divine mercy for those who reside there and who settle there, in order to bless them and protect them.

And those who receive this blessing must, for their part, increase peace and closeness among people, as it is said: "Bless us, our Father, all as one." For the Mishnah* says that "the Holy One, blessed be He, found no other vessel to contain blessing for Yisrael* than peace." The Chassidic* discourse "Enlist for Yourselves" explains all of this at length.

With my blessing and with greetings to all those who are settling (at Kfar Chabad*), to whom, of course, these words are also addressed,

במענה על מכתבו מבשר טוב מאשר מעתיק מושבו לכפר חב"ד הנה יה"ר שיהי' משנה מקום משנה מזל לטובה ולברכה, וירבה בעניני נר מצוה ותורה אור ובמאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות ובהשפעה על זולתו בכל זה, וגדול הזכות שנמצא בכפר חב"ד אשר מייסדו ומנהלו הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע נשיא ישראל ואשר מעורר ר"ר על כל הדרים והמתיישבים בו להמשיך להם ומגין עליהם, ובודאי המקבלים מצדם מרבים בשלום ובקירוב הלבבות וכמ"ש ברכנו אבינו כולנו כאחד כו' שהוא דבר משנה לא מצא הקב"ה כלי מחזיק ברכה לישראל אלא השלום ומבואר בארוכה לדרושי החלצו.

בברכה ובפ"ש כל המתיישבים אשר מובן שלכולם מכוונים דברים אלו.
