To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Uri (Rav U. Ben Shachar, of Tel Aviv; see letter no. 3911),

I greet you and bless you,

I received your letter of 28 Adar, which followed a long silence. You understand how painful it is to observe that the program for increasing the number of students (in the schools of the Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch network in the Holy Land) is not being implemented. And your letter indicates that there is no serious reason for this — nothing other than the body and the animal soul*, advocating passivity, whereas such passivity goes against the mission entrusted to man, who was created for the service of his Creator, to advance from one stage to the next. And our Sages say that "they (the Torah* scholars) know no rest, neither in this world... (nor in the World to Come)."

You tell me that you have begun a Chassidus* class with the women teachers of the school, and I am pleased by this. It no doubt covers subjects suited to their personality and knowledge. In any event, it would be good to discuss, each time, matters that are peripheral to Chassidus* and to specify what can be drawn from this study. You will surely meet with success.

No doubt you will describe to me, with all the necessary detail, the Pesach* preparations for the students of the network's schools and also for the summer vacation.

Pesach* is approaching, for us and for all of Yisrael*, for good and for blessing. You will celebrate it, together with the members of your family, in a kosher* and joyous manner.

לאחרי שתיקתו הארוכה נתקבל מכתבו מכ"ח אדר, ומובן עד כמה מצער מה שאין מבצעים את התכנית בהנוגע להרבות מספר התלמידים, ובפרט שכנראה גם ממכתבו אין בזה כל טעם רציני ורק מטבע הגוף ונפה"ב אשר שב ואל תעשה עדיף, שהוא היפך תכלית בריאת האדם שנברא לשמש את קונו ולהעשות מהלך ממדריגה למדריגה וכמרז"ל שאין להם מנוחה לא בעוה"ז וכו'.

נהניתי ממ"ש שהתחיל ללמוד דא"ח עם מורות בית הספר ובודאי הוא בענינים מתאימים לתכונת נפשם וידיעותיהם, ובכל אופן מה טוב שבכל פעם ידבר ג"כ בענינים, ארום חסידות, ובהבכן של לימוד החסידות, ובודאי יהי' בהצלחה.

בודאי יכתוב בפרטיות הדרושה אודות ההכנות לימי הפסח הבע"ל בהנוגע לתלמידים-ות בתי ספר הרשת וכן ההכנות בהנוגע לסדרי ימי החופש דקיץ הבע"ל.

ולקראת חג הפסח הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה הנה יחוג אותו עם ב"ב שיחיו בכשרות ובשמחה.
