To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Moshe (Rav M. Shayevitch; see letter no. 3381) HaCohen,

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 6 Nissan. Your name and that of your wife will be mentioned, at a propitious moment, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, regarding everything you have written to me. May Hashem* grant that you convey good tidings of all this and of your activity as secretary of the shul*.

Our Sages affirm that the one in charge of the cistern is appointed by Hashem*. How much more so is this the case for the one in charge of a Chassidic* shul*, whose appointment was confirmed by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, leader of Yisrael* (see letter no. 1487; see also the Igros Kodesh of the Frierdiker Rebbe*, letter no. 2677).

May Hashem* grant that you use the strengths that have been granted to you to improve this shul* and this house of study in the best way. You will provide the living example of a Chassidic* shul*, of a Chassidic* secretary, of what the members of a Chassidic* community should be.

Our Sages say that Hashem* demands only in accordance with the strengths He grants. You therefore possess those which will enable you to lead this shul* and its members, to accomplish all of this concretely.

Pesach* is approaching, for us and for all of Yisrael*, for good and for blessing. You will celebrate it, together with your wife, in a kosher* and joyous manner.

With my blessing for the festival and to convey good tidings of all this,

במענה על מכתבו מששי בניסן, בעת רצון יזכירו אותו ואת זוגתו שיחיו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע להענינים אודותם כותב ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל זה וכן מעסקנותו בתור גבאי, אשר אם אפילו ריש גרגותא משמיא קא ממני לי' כמאמר רז"ל, עאכו"כ גבאי בבית הכנסת חסידותי, ואשר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נשיא ישראל אישר המינוי שלו, ויהי רצון שינצל הכחות שניתנו לו לשפר את הבית כנסת ובית המדרש ביותר וביותר עד שיוכל לשמש דוגמא חי' ווי א חסידישע שול, א חסידישער גבאי און חסידישע בעלי בתים דארפען אויסזעהען, וכיון שאמרו רז"ל אין הקב"ה מבקש אלא לפי כחן, הרי בודאי שניתנו לו כחות להנהגת בית הכנסת בפרט ולכל הבע"ב של בית הכנסת להביא ענין זה בפועל במילואו.

ולקראת חג הפסח הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנה יחוג אותו ביחד עם זוגתו בכשרות ובשמחה.
