I am responding to your letter of this Sunday, in which you describe the situation regarding the harmony of your home.

In such a case, one must involve good friends, who will restore the peace. Of course, you must accept for your part — not merely say it, but actually do it concretely — to make concessions whenever she is right.

If certain points cannot be clarified, the matter should be submitted to the judgment of neutral people. Most of the time, when a woman sees that her husband truly wants to make peace and is ready to make concessions, she draws closer to him. Various explanations of our Sages establish that this is indeed so and, for this reason, it is good to accept such concessions in various domains and even in the broadest manner.

May Hashem* grant that you soon be able to convey good tidings of all that has been said.

To obtain Hashem's* help so that this happen as quickly as possible, it would be good, every day after the morning prayer, to recite the Tehillim* according to their monthly division. Every weekday morning, before the prayer, you should give a few cents to tzedakah*. You should maintain these practices — without making a vow of it — until the next Rosh Hashanah*.
