To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*,

Rav Shmuel (Rav S. Babiov, of Yerushalayim),

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 26 Adar. As you request, I will mention your name and those of the members of your family at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, leader of Yisrael*, so that you obtain the satisfaction of your needs, material and spiritual.

You mention in your letter your participation in a Chabad* celebration at Kfar Chabad*, on the luminous day of 19 Kislev (the liberation of the Alter Rebbe* from the czarist prisons). At that event, you surely heard that this date is described as the Rosh Hashanah* of the study and the ways of Chassidus*. Now, the purpose of Rosh Hashanah* is to vivify, through the inspiration it brings, all the days of the year. And the same applies to 19 Kislev with regard to Chassidus*.

On that day, every Jew has the opportunity to obtain the motivation and to make good resolutions for the entire year. For your part, you will surely prepare the necessary vessels, ensure that this revelation takes place, and strengthen it. For nothing can withstand the will.

With my blessing to convey good tidings of all that has been said, in particular regarding the education of your daughters, and for a kosher* and joyous Pesach*.

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ו אדר. כבקשתו אזכירו וכל ב"ב שיחיו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע נשיא ישראל להמצטרך להם בגשמיות וברוחניות.

וכיון שמזכיר במכתבו שהשתתף בשמחת חג חב"ד בכפר חב"ד ביום הבהיר י"ט כסלו, בודאי שמע בעת החגיגה שם אשר היום ההוא - י"ט כסלו - נקרא בשם ראש השנה בלימוד התורה ודרכי החסידות, וכמו שראש השנה ענינו הוא להמשיך חיות מהתעוררות שלו על כל ימות השנה, על דרך זה הוא בהנוגע לההתעוררות די"ט כסלו בעניני חסידות, שניתנה היכולת לכל אחד ואחד מבני ישראל להמשיך ההתעוררות והחלטות טובות דיום זה על כל השנה, ובטח גם מצדו יכין הכלים וישתדל בהענינים המביאים המשכה זו לפועל ומגדלים אותה, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון.

בברכה לבשו"ט בכל האמור לעיל ובהנוגע לחינוך בנותיו תחי' ביחוד ולחג הפסח כשר ושמח.
