To the great Rav, distinguished man who fears Hashem*

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Moshe Tzvi (Rav M. T. Nerya, dean of the Yeshivah of Kfar HaRoeh),

I greet you and bless you,

I read with pleasure in your letter that there is a fixed Tanya* class once a week (within the Yeshivah*) and that the participants take great interest in it. Of course, a weekly class is by no means sufficient. Our Sages say that one cannot go three days without Torah* study, and this applies equally to its luminary, which is its inner dimension, and which the Zohar* calls "the soul of the Torah*." For our generation, this means the study of Chassidus*.

Now, nothing can withstand the will, and if this is so outside Eretz Yisrael*, how much more so is it the case in "the land upon which the eyes of Hashem* your Elokim* are always directed, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year." For someone like you, it is surely unnecessary to say more, and these few lines have no other purpose than to advise alacrity to one who already possesses this quality naturally, in accordance with the teaching of our Sages. Moreover, in this case, as I said, it is merely a matter of developing what already exists.

May Hashem* grant that you succeed in training students who fear Hashem*, study the Torah* in purity, and fulfill the mitzvos* in the best manner.

With my blessing for a kosher* and joyous Pesach*, and to convey good tidings of all this,

Your attitude encourages them to redouble their efforts in spreading the wellsprings (of Chassidus*) outward.

...נעם לי לקרות מכתבו אשר ישנם שיעורים קבועים בלימוד ספר התניא אחת לשבוע, והמשתתפים בשיעור מגלים ענין רב בהבנה. ואף שמובן ששיעור אחת לשבוע אינו מספיק כלל וכלל, ועכ"פ צריך להיות ע"פ מרז"ל שלא יעברו ג' ימים בלא (מאור שב)תורה היא פנימיות התורה הנקראת בזהר הק' נשמתא דאורייתא, שבדורנו זה היא תורת החסידות, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון, ואם בחו"ל כך, עאכו"כ בארץ אשר עיני ה"א בה מראשית שנה עד אחרית שנה. ובודאי לדווכתי' האריכות בזה אך למותר, ולא באתי בשורותי אלה אלא לקיים מרז"ל אין מזרזין אלא למזורזין ולא נצרכה אלא להעדפה וכדלעיל ויה"ר מהשי"ת אשר יצליח להעמיד תלמידים יראי ד' לומדי תורה בטהרה ומקיימי מצות בהידור.
