To the president, the organizers, and the participants of the

fourteenth campaign on behalf of Yeshivas*

Tomchei Temimim* Lubavitch of Montreal,

may Hashem* grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I learned with pleasure that your annual fundraising dinner will take place, with the help of Hashem*, on Tuesday, Rosh Chodesh* Nissan, the month of the festival of the time of our freedom, which is closely related to the time of the giving of our Torah*.

Every event is an effect of Divine Providence*, especially if it is connected to the Torah* and concerns an institution as important as the Lubavitch Yeshivah* of Montreal. I hope that this timing will add an extra dimension to the event, which is already very important in itself.

In our time, when Torah* Judaism faces barriers and limitations, confusions and uncertainties on one hand, and false ideas and opinions on the other, the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* is not only a "Land of Goshen," as in Egypt, but also a sure preparation for liberating oneself from the exile of Egypt as it exists in our time.

The Lubavitch Yeshivah* has the distinction of implanting in its students a spirit of self-sacrifice for the Torah* and Jewish values, with which they become imbued. This spirit is fully revealed toward their surroundings while they are still at the Yeshivah* and even more clearly when they leave it and engage in life. They are then a Divine blessing for the city.

I hope that the Jews of Montreal in general, and the organizers and donors of the Yeshivah* in particular, will appreciate at its true value the role entrusted to them and the merit that participation in the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* Lubavitch constitutes. They will therefore considerably expand their contribution, in order to provide this Yeshivah* — their Yeshivah* — with the means not only to continue to exist, but also to grow and develop, as does everything that is alive. Our Sages say, indeed, that "one rises in matters of holiness."

Each person will therefore act in this spirit, with the appropriate dedication and energy. Without a doubt, this celebration will be fruitful. It will bring blessing and success to each person, as well as to the members of his family, in all material and spiritual needs.
