To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Chaim Hillel (Rav H. H. Azimov, of Paris; see letter no. 3820),

I greet you and bless you,

You are considering traveling to Denmark (in order to collect funds for the Lubavitch* institutions of the Paris region). May Hashem* grant that you meet with success in the harvest of material goods and in the sowing of spirituality, in accordance with the well-known saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us.

The more you intensify the spiritual sowing — which is left to man's free choice — the more you will increase the first point (the fundraising), which depends on Hashem*. Our Sages say, indeed, that "everything is in the hands of Heaven, except the fear of Heaven."

You write that you are considering distributing matzah shmurah* to the students of Beis Rivkah* and the Talmud Torah* schools, wherever this will be possible. This is a very good initiative. May Hashem* grant that this matzah* act as "the food of healing" and "the food of faith." There are no words to describe the great merit of those who devote themselves to all of this.

With my blessing for success in all that has been said, to convey good tidings, and for a kosher* and joyous Pesach*,

השייכים לזה, ויה"ר שתפעול פעולתה כמיכלא דאסוותא וכמיכלא דמהימנותא וזכות המשתדלים בזה אין די באר.
