To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and dedicates himself to communal needs,

I greet and bless you,

I reply to your letter of 21 Elul, which reached me with a delay, and I hope you are well.

Enclosed you will find the Kuntres He'chaltz'u* which has just been published and which you will make available to the greatest number, as well as two small fascicles published for the soldiers[2]. Please tell me whether they suit your needs[3] and, if so, how many copies you require.

Thank you for giving me news of my brother. I hope he is well, as is his family. I thank you for visiting him and conveying my greetings to him. I am certain you will grant my request, as you did last time, and I thank you in advance.

Regarding what Rav H. A. Naeh[4] is asking for: please give him fifty Israeli pounds from Merkaz L'Inyanei Chinuch*. He has no doubt kept his word. Likewise, please endeavour to have Rav M. Axelrod[5] send to my father-in-law the Rebbe Shlita — directly or through me — the commentaries of Rav Ch. G.[6] on the Tanya*.

Perhaps it will also be possible to obtain the commentaries of Rav Z. Havlin, which are, as Rav H. H. Havlin[7] wrote to me, at his brother's home in Tel Aviv. Please also see what Rav Zyslin[8] possesses.

The Tanya* notes and summaries[9] were sent to you separately. At the end of that book you will find a list of our publications.

In conclusion: the Chicago Yeshivot* Committee[10] has written to the Rabbanim* of the Holy Land regarding the distribution of grants among the Yeshivot*. You must meet with Rav Ch. Y. Zevin[11] on this matter and together decide what must be done.

It is practically certain that representatives of that committee will come on site, and perhaps Rav Ch. Palmer[12] will be part of the delegation.

Please confirm that you have received this letter and send me good news as quickly as possible.

על השאלה בדבר הרח"א שי' נאה צריך לתת לו מהמל"ח נ' שקל בטח קיים הבטחתו ויראה שהר"מ אקסלרוד שי' ישלח לכ"ק מו"ח אד"ש ישר או על ידי הערות הרש"ג בנוגע לתניא ואולי באפשרי להשיג ג"כ הערות הר"ז האולין ז"ל שנמצא כמש"כ לי הרח"ה שי' האוולין אצל אחיו שבת"א. כן מהנמצא אצל הרב זיסלין שי'.

בפ"ע נשלח לו ס' קיצורים והערות לתניא ובסופו נמצאת רשימת מה שהו"ל.

ובשל עתה אסיים ועד הישיבות דשיקאגא כתב לרבנים באה"ק ע"ד חלוקת עזרתם להישיבות באה"ק ועליכם להתראות עם הרש"י שי' זעווין ולטכס עצה. קרוב לודאי שיבקרו באה"ק ב"כ הועד הנ"ל ואפשר שגם הר"ש שי' פאלמער יהי' מהם.
